Two Haiku and a Quatrain by Tadashi Kushibuchi

Dragonfly, fly, fly,

Fly away my blues today.

Fly, fly, fly away.

Magic word: Foon-jaka-poo!

Who bought the last round?

Magic words: This round's on me!

Scares away the blues, foon-jaka-poo!

Dragonflies: A Quatrain

Dragonflies,

Cinders spit from Heaven's fire,

Cause of thoughts now turned to sighs,

Knowing winter is your funeral pyre.

A triolet: My friend of many years and ways

My friend of many years and ways,
I find you still a joyous blessing.
Though age, us two, to time betrays,
my friend of many years and ways,
your face is still a joy to gaze;
and, even more, you are impressing.
My friend of many years and ways,
I find you still a joyous blessing.

Old Love: A Triolet

Yes, thirty nine, the years have passed.
Who could of men, back then, have guessed it?
But how the time has gone so fast!
Yes, thirty nine, the years have passed,
And love, till breath is not, will last.
It's fabric, wrinkle free, time's pressed it.
Yes, thirty nine, the years have passed.
Who could of men, back then, have guessed it?
